Eagles Playoff Scenarios

I believe the Eagles can make the playoffs in any of the following ways:

1. Win at Dallas

2. Win vs. Atlanta

3. New York Giants loss at Washington

4. Carolina win at New Orleans

5. St. Louis win at Minnesota

6. Green Bay win at Chicago and New York Giants win Strength of Victory (or any other) tiebreaker over Green Bay

I believe the Giants are in with a win if they keep the SOV tiebreaker against Green Bay (or if Green Bay loses). As long as it's a three-way tie for the last spot with Eagles, Atlanta, and one of Green Bay, St. Louis, and Carolina, the Eagles will win on conference record (7-5, vs. 6-6 for all but GB), and they beat GB head to head.

I was doing the same calculation and came to essentially the same conclusion although I missed the S.O.V. tiebreaker aspect. I just assumed that since it's currently so lopsided there's no way Green Bay could catch up, but it looks like if everything goes right they could.

Of course this is all completely a moot point thanks to yesterday.

Well, the beautiful thing is that Green Bay can get in on Strength-of-Victory. They need seven games to go their way if both they and the Giants win, but it can happen.
